Innovation Center

Approved for establishment in December 2023, the Shandong Flower Technology Innovation Center is spearheaded by Qingzhou Yatai Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Tobacco Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Agricultural University, Qingdao Agricultural University, and the Yantai Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Shandong Province. The center adopts a novel management framework characterized by council-based decision-making, center director accountability, and expert committee advisory roles. This center represents a profound integration of industry, academia, and research, with leading floral enterprises at the helm and research institutions serving as the core of innovation. It endeavors to forge a seamless connection among the innovation chain, industry chain, and capital chain, positioning itself as a pivotal scientific research platform steering the high-quality development of Shandong's floral industry.

Targeting

Focusing on the major strategies of national flower seed industry security, rural revitalisation, and high-quality industrial development, and responding to the practical need to seize the commanding heights of flower technology in China, we aim to build 'Four Centres and One Platform', namely the New Varieties and New Technology Research and Development Centre, the High-Quality Seedling Multiplication Centre, the Flower Germplasm Conservation Centre, the Achievement Transfer and Experimental Demonstration Centre, and the Entrepreneurship Incubation Platform. By integrating the advantageous resources of the flower industry and gathering the research strength of universities, institutes, and technology enterprises, this initiative seeks to establish a technology innovation platform that combines flower research and experimentation, achievement transfer and transformation, germplasm conservation, and entrepreneurship incubation.
